How to have more joy in life every day

Here at More Joy In Life our motto is to enjoy the journey, live consciously in the present and celebrate this moment, because this moment is your life.

Wherever you go – go with all your heart.

Would you like less stress and more joy in your life… right now?

More Joy in your relationships

More Joy with your family.

More joy in your financial life.

More Joy in your career.

More joy in your health and fitness efforts.

Many people are living out their dreams, and enjoying peaceful and prosperous lives right now. While others are caught up in a stressful rat race, and living a life of quiet desperation.

What makes the difference? Many teachers say it starts with consciously choosing thoughts and feelings that are true to your heart and soul.

As Chardin wrote, “You are not a human being having a spiritual experience; you are a spiritual being having a human experience.”

That spiritual aspect is the key to everything. If your life is not aligned with your spiritual self, you will always feel, let’s say, as if your radio is not completely tuned into the beautiful music, and instead is giving you only part of the music mixed with a lot of unnecessary static.

Your career can offer a good example of this. Have you ever had a job that sapped your spirit? I have, and I remember one soul-sucking job that nearly crushed my creativity and turned me into a zombie. On the other hand, I have had careers that were fun and creative and that paid really well. It was like getting paid a generous income just to do my fun hobby.

Once your “self” is in alignment with your spirit, your life can be a joyful journey. Change this one aspect and you may look back in a few years and say: “That one change was the turning point. That is when my life turned onto a better path.”

“Whatever we do,
we are doing it to be happy,
whether we realize it or not.”
~ Ralphe Parlette

Have you ever seen how two seemingly similar people can get totally different results?

There is a story of two people who graduated from the same school, worked in similar careers, and both did their best to follow their dreams and have a good life.

Many years later they get back in touch with each other and find that their lives are very different.

One person is enjoying health, wealth, happy relationships and a life of meaning and joy. The other person is struggling with ailments, debts, loneliness and is trapped in the rat race.

What made the difference?

In many cases, the difference was a way of thinking and feeling, and a way of looking at the world, that that one person learned and the other missed.

The big difference is often how you think.

Your thoughts can help you get more of what you want and less of what you don’t want. Or they can work against you and do the opposite.

Years ago I read the proverb: “As a man Thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

The modern version is “As you think in your heart, so you become.”

Note how it does not say how you think in your mind, or your brain, or your gut.

It says as you think in your heart.

Let your heart be your guide.

Follow your heart’s desire. Wherever you go, go with all your heart and soul. That will keep you on your true path and give your life meaning and joy. It will keep you kind, and will bring you peace of mind.

If right now your critical mind is making cynical comments to your spirit, you are witnessing the problem that holds some people back from living their dreams. We all have this problem to deal with, but some people learn to tame the beast while others listen to it and let it steal their joy.

The good news is that you can take charge of your thoughts and your life.

Right now that inner critic may be saying, “Yeah but I can’t do that because (fill in the blank).”

Tell the critic to take the day off because this website is a “no negativity zone.”. You have some heart-felt thinking to do here and you don’t need the negative voice of doom nagging you with criticism, doubts and fears.

You are not your body, or your ‘self’… you are so much more. ‘You’ are your soul. Your body is simply a vehicle that carries your soul around, and your self and ego are the backseat drivers that should sometimes just shut up and let your soul drive. ~ Mark Nolan

We are not talking about simply “thinking positive.” This is about being in alignment with your purpose in life, being true to your heart and soul, and living a life of meaning that offers you abundance and personal fulfillment.

May I ask you about that secret wish you have? The one that would be your fondest dream come true? Do you ever wonder why you aren’t living that dream in your day-to-day life as much as you’d like to?

What great things would we all be doing right now if we were not afraid of … something… whatever it is that often holds us back?
